Curiosity & Exclusion

Photography is more than a person clicking a button on a camera. To me, photography is what words can’t say; its true expression in its rawest form. Behind every shutter and focus is a story, a story that is told differently for each viewer. I like to think that my work is a type of self-expression. It shows the curiosity for this world that I carry on my shoulders. This weight of curiosity is heavy, but it pushes me to know more. I hate not knowing what’s next, or rather, what could be. I often feel misguided and excluded from everything around me, which is why the constant worry of curiosity can haunt me some days. Figuring out what I’m missing in life is made complete when I photograph. I no longer feel excluded from people when I have a subject modeling before me. Their every move and expression fill me with that answer for curiosity, which is up to me to decide. I am free to paint a story with my eyes, and that to me, is everything.
